More Information about VINTAGE JASON VALVE AMP
JASON VALVE AMP
MODEL JTV2
FROM THE 1960's
I have given it a condition of 2 because I purchased it at an auction with other old radios and don't know if it works. This is for the enthusiast or collector.
Jason produced valve kits for the enthusiast to bulid. I have found an advert in Practical Wireless January 1965 for this amplifier. It is described as being a "switched tuner for the reception of all BBC FM radio transmissions and BBC and ITV television sound channels". It was for sale as a kit for £14.0.4 (fourteen pounds and four pence).
It's a VHF tuner to listen to the sound only of two television stations and the three BBC radio stations. At the time there were only three BBC radio stations (on VHF), and one BBC television and one ITV tv station, all on VHF (405 lines, black and white)
The RF co-ax cable from an aerial was fed into the back and there are two phonos on the rear. I expect one is for the loudspeaker, and the other is for the "aux" input. It is of course all mono.
I don't know if it works, so please assume it doesn't. It appears in a complete condition, with hardly any scratches or real damage.
I can post for £10 UK-wide. You can pay with paypal. Or collect from my home at BA34XJ, Somerset.
