More Information about RARE CELESTION DITTON 66 SERIES II SPEAKERS
The Celestion Ditton 66 evolved for 3 decades since the first was introduced in the 1960s and it quickly became a standard for studio use. The original formula of a tweeter married to a dome mid with a 12” bass woofer and a passive bass radiator adding reinforcement was kept throughout. The Celestion Ditton 66 Series II sees the passive bass radiator moved to the rear and the mid, bass woofer and tweeter are all improved types only found in this series, this model is the fourth and final version of the Ditton 66 and is the rarest of all the versions/series.
Despite costing several thousands: nowadays so called high end hifi speakers only tend to perform well in one area and tend only to be good for vocals or string instruments for example .
Vintage speakers such as those made by Celestion Ditton were made first and foremost to produce great sound and secondly they were made of very high quality materials in order for them to be robust. It is for this reason as to why they are still vastly superior to the vast majority of the speakers produced today and why they are still able to considerably outperform modern day speakers that are priced anywhere near as well as significantly beyond the same price bracket.
The Ditton 66 Series II is a refinement of previous 66's
and is in short a magnificent speaker that produces sensational sound that will excites your senses.
